Monday February 13, 2012

The sun was out this morning, and we began the day waiting for the men to come to install iron bars on the windows, and cut the safe open to retrieve our passports and computer. They arrived at 10:00 a.m. and did the job.  They used a grinder to score the steel safe....not cut right through, as the sparks would harm the computer.  Then they used a chisel and hammer to cut along the ‘score line’.... each blow was enough to shock the computer inside, but it was o.k. when he took it out........nice to have the computer back ...just for you dear readers!
Now that Milla has bars on her window, she can sleep in peace.....not that we have had any problems.
I feel that it is much better to live within the Mexican community, than to stay at a resort.  Here at the casa, we are part of the community, instead of being ‘tourists’ who are easy targets. (I hope i don’t regret these words when all is said and done....time will tell)
We spent the afternoon at the beach...Robert building ‘sand‘ sharks, while Milla and I read, and did our daily stretches.  The water was warm and the surf was pounding the shore as usual.  Robert and I frolicked in the waves.....we are going to get ourselves a ‘boogie board’ to ride those suckers!
The sunset was lovely, but not as dramatic as usual.   We met our resident lab at the beach.  He was also watching the sunset and digging in the sand for crabs.
Robert and Milla did "qi gong" exercises, after an art lesson in portraiture...poor Milla.  By the way, because tomorrow is Valentine’s day, there are flowers everywhere on the streets....beautiful red roses!   I’ll take a photo tomorrow.  Just another way that Mexicans express themselves, along with their music, dance and art! Such a vibrant culture.  Recia and her friend from Guelph are suppose to arrive tomorrow.  They are staying in a large white mosque-looking resort on the beach.  I am sure they will love San Pancho.
