This sunny morning beckoned us to the beach, where we lay our towels down beside our favourite log and stretched and listened to Robert, as he read aloud from his book ‘Everything You Need to Know to Feel Go(o)d’. Milla and I will top off the evening with warm milk and cinnamon, as a result of the wise words from the author! Robert went over to the Polo club to check on tonight’s match and discovered that it has been postponed until Tuesday due to all the rain we have had over the past few days.
After visiting the Entre Amigos to do yesterday’s blog, and check our mail, Sue decided to get her hair cut at Lupitta’s Salon where Lupitta balances looking after her preschool kids and cutting hair at the same time. Her two young boys were being occupied with Super Mario games when Lupitta decided to send one of them to the store down the street. He soon returned with a cut lip after falling on the sidewalk. Robert quickly went back to the store and bought 2 popsicles for the boys. That seemed to fix the cut lip.
Soon Susan had her hair cut and Mexican styled so we started out for beach walk #2, but happened to meet Moy, who sold us a fresh lot of fruit and vegetables from his truck. We finally did reach our favourite spot on the south shore of the beach, where we always hunt for beach treasures. Robert found what we thought was ‘Moby Dick’s‘ tooth, but one of the locals by the name of Jose Rodriguez set us straight... it was really part of the spine of a large fish recently caught and gutted on the beach. We returned along the beach searching for sharks’ teeth so we can make a necklace for Adain and Cole. No luck yet!
We headed for Vienney’s vegetarian cafe for supper. She makes delicious veggie burgers and mango smoothies. The mangos are picked from the local mango trees. She uses mangos, bananas, yogurt, juice, and granola in a very large glass - all for 2 dollars.
After Vienney showed us her artwork, we went back to the beach to watch the wedding and the sunset. Both were very interesting but we liked the sunset better.
On our way back up the street to Casa Tequila, we stopped at the soccer field just as the game ended so we decided to stay in for the evening and just play cards and read. It almost sounds like we are seniors and we are just too old to go off to the bars and drink and dance the night away.
By the way, Milla has finally met a handsome Mexican living next door. He has a great golden brown tan and loves to eat. Milla thinks his name is Rusty and they have lunch together every day.
