Sunday February 5

We decided to start the day off by taking the bus down to the La Cruz farmers' market.  The bus experience is one we will never forget.  The bus dropped us off on the freeway and we had to walk up a cloverleaf to reach another highway, then take another bus.   The second bus was filled with snowbirds from Canada and the US so we just followed them to the market.  This market is located at the marina and reminds us of the St. Jacob's market.  We met a lady who was into organic stretching.  She was the first female to sail around the world solo.  Her name was Pat Henry and her studio is in La Cruz.  We might visit her.  The food here was so delicious, it was hard to decide what to buy but we did purchase greens, cakes, and fresh derado.
Upon returning to the quiet quaint SAFE beautiful village of San Pancho, we spent the afternoon pool side involved in an organic stretching session led by San Pancho's new instructor, Roberto.

Around 5 p.m., we strolled down to the ocean which was very busy because of the SuperBowl action in the local restaurants.  But, not for us.  We went to a lecture on turtles, birds, and jaguars.  We learned many interesting facts about this area and the environmental programmes.  How encouraging to know that Mexico is on board with saving our planet.
Here are just a few new things you might not be aware of ...

1.  The baby turtles leave the beach and attempt to swim 5 miles out into the ocean where it is safe.
2.  The Military Macaw, which is the largest parrot, mate for life and if one of the pair dies, they do not remarry.
3.  The curious Jaguar is the only feline that can rotate his paws like humans for easy access to food.

After the lecture, we dined on fresh fish, spinach salad, coconut pie, and fetticinni.  Oh! and free tequila!!
We sat with people from Oregon and Wisconsin.  The organizer of the lecture, Luis, is taking us on some adventures next week.  I think we will go with him the San Sebastain, which is an old Mexican town inland.
